GENERAL RULES
In these Rules, where the Rider is referred to, and where the Rider is a minor, these Rules shall automatically include and be binding upon the Rider’s Parents/Guardians:
1. The Judge’s decision is final.
2. By entering this show, the Rider confirms that he/she has read and understood SANESA’s
3. Constitution, By-Laws, Rules and Regulations, Terms and Conditions, Codes of Conduct and all other relevant material, and to the
extent that these documents create any duty, onus or obligation on the
4. Rider, the Rider accepts the same unreservedly.
5. The classes that have set times will have preference in the event of a clash, but the onus is on the Rider to advise those in charge
of an arena of a potential clash PRIOR to the start of the class.
6. Failure to do so may disqualify the Rider.
7. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DOGS AT HOME! The SANESA Organising Committee shall have the express right to require any dogs, or
indeed any other animal, brought to the Venue to be removed, and failure to comply with such a lawful directive may subject the
Rider associated with the owners of any such dog to disciplinary processes. In all regards, SANESA specifically reserve the right of
admission to the Venue for the duration of the show.
8. It is up to the Rider to ensure that their horse/pony has been vaccinated/inoculated as required by law, is fit and healthy to
compete, is not under the influence of any banned substances and does not have, to the best of their knowledge, any contagious
diseases.
9. The Rider undertakes NOT to bring any horse/pony to the show which has an infectious disease,
whether notifiable or not, or which horse/pony the Rider could reasonably be expected to know has an infectious disease and/or
which may cause the spread of such infectious disease. The Rider shall immediately withdraw any such affected horse/pony from
the show, and shall forfeit any entry fees paid.
10. In any qualifying SANESA show, a substitution may be made of horse AND/OR Rider PROVIDED they are from the SAME SCHOOL
and compete in the EXACT same class.
11. Horse substitutions may only be done if the horse substituted is registered on the Rider profile.
12. No Rider may changes levels or classes on the day.
13. No substitution may be bought or sold for money at any SANESA Show.
14. No School or Team may enter in more than one region in a year.
15. Qualifying criteria and team selection criteria are as published under Selection Criteria for the Region/Province. If a
Region/Province fails to publish their criteria as per the rules, the National criteria will be applied. It is the Rider’s sole responsibility
to familiarise and be aware of the applicable qualifying and selection criteria.
16. For shows that were postponed/rescheduled/cancelled after closing date there will be no refunds/credits of entry fees or any part
thereof, for any reason whatsoever. For postponed/rescheduled shows it is the Rider’s responsibility to delete entries if they cannot
participate on the re-scheduled date. There will be no refunds/credits for Riders scratchings after close of entries.
17. There will be no refunds/credits for classes that are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances at an event. In these cases, all
riders in the class will receive equality of points being 20 plus level weight point for both the rider individual and the school points.
18. Riders with disabilities may compete in all classes of the Schools League at own risk. Please see our criteria for Riders with
disabilities when registering the Rider.
19. By entering this show, the Rider agrees that neither SANESA, SAEF, the venue/club, the organisers, owners, officials or their
employees or representatives will be held responsible for any loss, damage, theft or injury sustained by horses/ponies, riders,
spectators or their property at this event.
20. By entering this show, the Rider and his/her Parents/Guardians expressly consent and provide SANESA and its agents with the
necessary authorisation to take and use photographs and/or video material (“material”) of the Rider taken at any stage during the
show, provided that any such material shall only be used for the purpose of promoting SANESA , in whatsoever form or format
SANESA may choose, including but not limited to its website and/or social media pages, provided that SANESA shall use any such
material with all reasonable discretion and sensitivity, and any such material may, where taken by an agent of SANESA, be made
available for sale by the agent to the Rider. In the event that the Rider objects to SANESA’s use of any material containing their
image, on written request, SANESA shall remove such material from wherever it may have been used by SANESA. Save for
requiring the removal of any material, the Rider shall have no further claim in this regard against SANESA or its agents.
21. LEVEL 0 RIDERS MAY NOT USE SPURS IN ANY DISCIPLINE.
22. LEVEL 0 RIDERS SPLIT AGE GROUPS:
9 and under includes the year in which the child turns 9 and the year in which the child turns 10 and up.
23. SAFETY TIPS FOR RIDERS:
Wear an approved riding helmet that fits your head and is correctly fastened every single time you go riding.
Always have riding helmets checked by professionals after a fall.
Use Safety Stirrups for younger riders.
Always check girths before mounting.
Always wear sturdy boots with a heel and minimal tread.
Never lead your horse with your hand through the lead.
Ride a suitable horse for your riding skill level.
Frequently check your tack for signs of weakness and wear.
Learn how to fall and roll away from your horse.
Consider wearing a safety vest to protect your torso
